Christmas in Boston

Chapter 1

Pauline, Casey, Pamela, Sarah, Andi and Kerry who had all met at the University of Miami. They became the best of friends doing so much together. They decided to meet at the football game. This was going to be the big interstate game between the University of Miami Hurricanes and there cross state rivals Florida State Seminoles. While they were at the game this man kept staring at Kerry. Andi looked at him and gave him a look like (“Pay attention to the game”.) Then Andi turned to him and told him to watch the game. Kerry then also turned to him and asked the man to “Please do as my friend says! ”After the game they all met up at the local hang out “Dirty Joe’s Diner”.

Where they would finalize there plans for the up coming Christmas Break. They were all excited to be heading north to Boston. For some of them this would be the first time they would see snow for Christmas. They all felt Kerry needed away from her ex-boyfriend Rudy. They had all thought Rudy was a nice guy but, soon they would found out he was very abusive. They talked over details of driving straight through to Boston. Each one would take there turn driving until they reached the hotel. The conversation turned to what they wanted to see and do in Boston. Everyone had there suggestions and ideas.

Soon the conversation turned serious when Kerry burst into tears confessing Rudy was stalking her. He would show up at her apartment, her job and some of her classes at school. It was then they realized they had to leave for Boston soon! The next day they were packing for there trip. Pauline was the first chosen to drive. They headed north away from Miami and Rudy.

Chapter 2

The drive was along tiring experience. The weather was ever changing during the drive from Miami’s 80 degree hot and sunny to Massachusetts cold blustery 30 degree weather. They could not wait to get to the hotel to rest and relax. Kerry who had been driving for several hours was beginning to become very tired. So Andi suggested they stop and switch and she would drive the rest of the way. They were all becoming very testy in the close cramp quarters of the van.

Their hotel was a little outside Boston in Braintree a small town Donnie Wahlberg lived in before moving to LA. They decided to have two to a room at the Braintree motel 6 off the highway. As they pulled into the parking lot of the hotel there had to be two inches of snow and there were only 5 cars in the hotel parking lot and Kerry started thinking “I guess people don’t vacation in Boston around Christmas.” The outside pool of the hotel was empty of all its water and was now partly filled with snow and the gate to the pool area was locked. They all went in to register for three first floor rooms. It was best, because of Andi’s wheel chair. Kerry couldn’t see them trying to get her up and down the stairs. Two of them would have to carry her and two of them would have to carry the wheelchair.

As the girls walked out of the hotel office they noticed there was a restaurant called “Bickford’s.” The restaurant’s parking lot was connected to the hotel parking lot. They unloaded the van yawning and stretching in the cold snow. They couldn’t wait to get to their rooms. They all needed a nap, before hitting the town. Any place they went, they had to be sure it was wheelchair accessible. Andi has Spina Bifida and is in a wheel chair. Spina Bifida is the incomplete development of the brain, spinal cord and/or their protective coverings. Some infants born with SB are born with an open lesion on their spines. Significant damage to their nerves and spinal cord has occurred.

Chapter 3

After resting for a while the other four girls knocked on Andi and Kerry’s door. They were all jumping around the room excited to be going out on the town. After deciding on trying Bickford’s for dinner, the frenzied rush was on girls running in and out of room’s barrowing clothes, jewelry and makeup jumping in showers. They had made a bet first room done gets a free dinner tonight. After an hour Pauline &Sarah knocked on doors to declare their victory.

With the restaurant being so close they agreed to walk over leaving the van at the hotel. While ordering food they asked their waitress about night clubs in Boston. She suggested they check out clubs on Lansdowne and Tremont Streets. She gave them directions on a napkin when they were done eating. Also on the napkin was a suggestion to check out two of her favorite clubs Axis & Roxy. With Pamela driving they were soon on there way battling through traffic to get into the city. Once into the city they drove around till they decided what club to go to.

Upon deciding Pamela dropped them at the door to find a parking space. There was not a long line waiting outside the club they wished Pamela would find a spot and hurry back so they could warm up inside. You could hear loud thumping music; see lights flashing and people dancing in a cloud of fog through the door. They began to shiver in the cold night air hoping Pamela would hurry up. Once Pamela met up with them at the door and they headed inside they all went straight for the bar for drinks. Four of them ordered alcoholic drinks two ordered soda. Pamela & Casey volunteered to be designated drivers. Only condition was two others had to volunteer for the next outing. They quickly talked about not staying out to late they wanted to find in as much site seeing and shopping as they could tomorrow.

Chapter 4

After drinking almost everything in the bar margaritas, screwdriver and doing shots like lemon drops, after shock, fire balls, tequila and avalanche. They had no idea of which way was up. They had no idea how they got out of the club and back to the hotel. The next morning when they all decided to roll out of bed and get dressed for their day of shopping. They headed for the nearest Dunkin Doughnuts for coffee, tea and hot cocoa with doughnuts and croissant sandwiches. Casey and Pam had stories to tell. They explained how one went for the truck as the other and 2 bouncers had to try to get them outside and into the van. They also went on how they were acting wild dancing with anyone and everyone in that club. They wouldn’t be surprise if the others gave out the hotel number. After their breakfast at DD Kerry suggested they walk Newbury St. Newbury had all kinds of shops to look at.

As the girls walked up one side of Newbury and back down the other they stopped at Virgin Records formerly known as Tower Records, Newbury Comics, JP Licks, CVS where Pauline had to get more film for her camera and finally to Newbury Sound. Jordan used to do a lot of recording here before he got his own studio. They decided to go to Newbury pizza for lunch. Everyone wanted something different so there was no use in ordering a whole pizza. They just ordered 2 slices of there favorite kinds. Some wanted everything; some wanted just pepperoni, sausages or cheese. Their lunch was hot the pizza shop was warm they were excited and talking in high tones and high speeds. After they were done the girls decided on seafood tonight for dinner, but before they left Newbury Street Kerry said she knew of a place she wanted to take the girls too. So they wiped their mouths and hand drank the last sips of their drinks. Put on hats, gloves, and jackets and adjusted them. Picked up what ever bags they had and went back out into the winter cold for more adventures.

Earlier in the day Kerry had told Pam about the adult store called Condom World and they thought it would be a fun way to end their first day of shopping by taking the girls there. Condom World hadn’t moved or changed from the last time Kerry had seen it. It was still down under another store. Getting Andi down there was going to be an adventure in itself. Sarah, Pam and Kerry carried down Andi’s chair as Casey and Pauline carried Andi down. They had to do it slow so no one fell. Once inside all the girls were shocked and amazed by all the gadgets, gizmos and toys they saw. Four of the girls dove right in looking, touching and showing off what they found.

The other two girls Casey and Pauline just stood at the door frozen just staring with there mouths open. Hey this was fun time they were all adults just being curious and getting educated. Andi rolled by the two girls at the door. She was swinging hand cuffs in one hand and a whip in the other, with a leather mask on her head. She was torturing, teasing and tormenting poor Casey and Pauline. Kerry was in a corner laughing trying not to pee herself. Sarah had to take pictures of this whole ordeal. Then Andi starts yelling how she was ready to open her own business. She is talking about being a special kind of dominatrix. After that everyone in the store was in a fit of laughter.

Kerry just had to add to Andi’s off the wall antics. “Andi all you need now is a cowboy hat (Ride'm Cowboy)” The young male college student cashier red faced and tears in his eyes begged for us to come back soon we made his day. Kerry bought 5 novelty condoms flavored glow in the dark ones. Just for keepsake and to always remember this day and what happened here. They decided to go back to the motel to shower, change and to warm up before dinner and to also recover from Andi’s little out burst at Condom World.

Chapter 5

By dinner they still didn’t know where they wanted to go for dinner burgers, seafood, steaks, and buffet?? Everyone was throwing out ides but everyone wanted something different as always. Kerry always wanted to try out Jose McIntyre’s on Milk Street not far from the New England Aquarium. Rumor was Joe owned it but, many said no he didn’t. It’s like a sports bar with huge windows for you to view the hustle and bustle of Milk Street. But that was just her suggestion. Someone mentioned a seafood place in Prudential Center. Kerry said she refused to go Yum Yums to after Joe’s outburst once outside of his house screaming for some one to get him pepto because he had the runs from their food. Well they decided on seafood and were going to Boston Legal Seafood in Downtown Crossing. It was a cold snowy blustery night. The wind was shaking the van as they drove towards downtown Boston. They parked as close as they could to the restaurant.

It was Andi’s big idea for her and Kerry to race to the door of the restaurant. The others ran ahead to tell them when to start and who won. Pauline stood next to the door wanting nothing to do with this. She said this was a bad idea and someone is going to get hurt. Pam wanted Pauline and Casey to come inside with her to get a table. Sarah yelled GO it was very slippery in the slush of the street. But Kerry and Andi did as well as they could. As they reached the door they both slide into three people coming out of the restaurant. By the time Sarah yelled it was too late.

Crash, bang, boom bodies were everywhere you heard a few curse words and some ouch that hurts. People untangled themselves from each other brushing off the snow. All Kerry could do was look at Andi. They both stuttered and stammered how sorry they were. They should not have been racing to the door and that if they were hurt they would pay for any damages. Kerry reached down for her cell phone that had fallen in the crash at the same time as one of the young men she had crashed into reached for his. It had also fallen out during the crash. Andi and Kerry felt so bad they had no idea what to say. Just then Pauline said “See I told you someone would get hurt see I cant take you two anywhere. Get your butts in here!” Pauline apologized some more.

As they all sat down for dinner they had to warm up and relax. The crash was an accident things happen when you’re acting like a kid. Hey it seemed like a good idea when it first started. They all ordered food shrimp, fish, scallops, crab legs and lobster. Everyone was sharing with everyone when someone’s cell phone was ringing. They all looked at one another then through their purses. Kerry said “ Hey it’s my cell, but wait .it says the call is coming from Sharon Knight. I don’t know a Sharon, so ill let it go to voice mail.“ They all went back to talking, eating and laughing. When Pam yelled “SHARON KNIGHT” everyone looked around and was saying where? where? She said “NO dummies the call. The cell phone, it’s not yours. It’s one of those guys you hit. So that means that was Jon and Jordan!” They all look wide eyed at the cell phone, Kerry began to feel sick. Two of the girls wanted her to go through the numbers on the phone. Someone else said call your phone see if they answer. Kerry began to shake and her stomach flipped. She got so nerves but she had to do it.

Chapter 6

Kerry picked up the cell phone and began to dial her own cell phone number. She was breathing heavy because she was so nervous. The cell phone rang twice. On the second ring a male voice answered” Hello“. “Umm hi umm I think I got your cell phone.” The voice laughed “umm no,” he said “I don’t think you do, I have it right here.” Kerry said “No sir umm I crashed into you outside the restaurant and some how we have each others phones.” The man at the other end said “umm ok then how do you know this?”” Well sir,” Kerry explained “You see the cell phone rang and it said Sharon but, sir I don’t know anyone named Sharon.” “Also if you check the cell phone your on, I bet it had names of people you don’t know either.” The man at the other end checked the phone and soon realized Kerry was right it was not his phone.

He then told her he would have to meet her soon to exchange phones. Kerry told him that they just started eating at the Boston Legal Seafood where they crashed into one another. He said he would be there in 45 minutes he has to turn around. Then a female voice came and he said “ok after I drop my mom off I will be back to exchange phones.” Kerry said “We will wait here for you to return.” Kerry hung up the cell and told the others she has no idea which one she just talked too. The girl chit chatted on and on all excited.

Soon they arrived not just Jordan but Jon also. Each girl took a look and their voices and breathes caught in their throats. Kerry stood and greeted them. She thought she would pass out. She took a deep breath and looked around the table. Kerry said hello and stuck out her hand for both Jon and Jordan to shake. She kicked Casey’s chair she jumped and said hello all the other girls soon chimed in. They all rose and shook hands. Kerry bent down and searched her purse for the phone. In the mean time Jon and Jordan brought chairs over and squeezed in. As Kerry stood up she looked kind of confused they just pulled up chairs and sat down. So Kerry sat now too she put the phone on the table and pushed it towards Jon and Jordan. She apologized again for the incident earlier.

Jordan began talking he asked the girls all kinds of questions. Where are you from? What are you doing in Boston? Where are you staying? All the girls looked at one another and started to laugh.

Jordan looked at Jon all confused. He asked why we were laughing. Casey turned to them and said “Are we under arrest officer?” That was it everyone burst into laughter. Andi said she felt she had to answer the officer’s questions so her mom wouldn’t have to come from Texas to bail her out. That got even more fits of laughter.

Chapter 7

After the laughter stopped, Jordan asked Kerry why she had 13 voice mails from some dude named Rudy. Kerry stopped dead, her fork filled with shrimp hovering in the air on its way to her mouth. Her eyes darted around the table to each girl. She couldn’t breath her skin was now covered in goose bumps. She had chills her heart was racing. Tears hovering at her lids daring to spill over on to her cheeks. No one said a word as she scooted her chair back and headed for the ladies room.

Her thoughts and memories melted together she heard voices, words and pictures of violence flashed before her. She wanted to forget about Rudy and everything he had put her through. She was here to have fun and forget that horrible man. She leaned against the wall and let the tears stream down her cheeks. She thinks to herself will this man and the things he has done haunt her forever? She had to put it away for now wipe away the tears and have a good time. This is a once in a life time chance for her to meet and hang with Jon and Jordan. She is wasting it in the ladies room. She freshens up and heads back to the table. When she gets there the table falls silent. She looks around and says “Don’t stop the conversations because of me.” “It’s not a secret and I’m not ashamed, I’m just scared.” Then Jon says we all should just move to Boston and finish school here. All the girls looked around at one another in excitement. Jon had the best idea ever that would be great for all of them.

They have to find a place not that can fit them all and that can be easy enough for Andi and her wheel chair. Again Jon and his ideas came through for them. He said he can make some calls and see what he can do seeing he’s in the real estate business. He can set us up to tour a few places ASAP. He excused himself pulled out his cell and walked away. Jordan asked Kerry more about Rudy. Kerry looked around took a deep breath. She told the whole story to Jordan. How Rudy is a guy she met they dated and soon he changed. He was like Jekyll and Hyde he was very abusive, but Kerry suspected there was more going on maybe crime or maybe drugs. Jordan’s head was down and he kept shaking it. He asked if the beating were bad but as Kerry went to answer Jon came back and Kerry clamed up. She liked him a lot and thought he was so cute and nice. He made her very nervous. Jon said it was all set for them to tour three house tomorrow he would meet them at each house with the land lord. All three houses/ apartments were not far from downtown Boston.

Chapter 8

They sat there in the restaurant for like five hours chit chatting about everything. It was like they all had known each other for yrs. It was 10:30 pm by now Jon looked at his watch and was like oh my god we need to go! We all need rest for the house hunting tomorrow. The girls paid their bill as they all walked out together laughing. They all said their good byes and walked their separate ways. They kept looking back at one another. It was like watching a reenactment of the” I’ll Be Loving You” video. Jon yelled and was waving his hand so they made Casey go find out what he wanted. They started talking and looking at her cell then at his. Then she hugged him and came running back to the rest of the girls.

Just as she gets back to the group with this he grins. She blurts out “He wanted everyone’s cell phone numbers so he could call us!” Ok right there the girls were all yelling and jumping around when Jordan and Jon drove up and honked they stopped and asked if the girls were ok. The girls stopped dead almost frozen like there eyes darting around at one another. All of a sudden there was everyone talking at once. “Umm yeah we are ok; yup we are fine all is good.” I think at this point all the girls were embarrassed they got caught. They wanted to get back to the hotel relax go to bed for there long day of apartment and house hunting. After Jordan and Jon drove away they were laughing omg we got caught. They jumped into the van and drove back to the hotel as fast as they could drive. It was going to be a long day in the morning so they all got to their rooms as fast as possible.

They wanted to get as much sleep as they could. Each one of them knew they would be dreaming about their dinner with Jordan and Jon Knight. Jonathan started calling the hotel all three rooms at 7 am the next morning. After he got no answer at all three rooms he started on all the cell phones. Kerry finally answered her cell phone as Andi answered the room phone. They both heard Jon’s voice jumped up and turned on the lights. They promised to get their butts going. Andi flung herself in her chair and hung up and rolled out the door in here pajamas to bang on the other girls doors. Kerry said goodbye to Jon and ran into bathroom to change. As Kerry came out Andi was rolling in the door shivering. Kerry helped Andi find clothes so she could change.

All the girls were so excited as they ran to the van. Kerry threw the keys to Pam and Pauline and said one drive and the other to be co-pilot. Jon soon called the cells again telling them not to stop for breakfast. Casey told Jon to call Pam’s cell and give directions. Soon they were on their way to see the first house or apartment. What they pulled up to was a three story building. The side walk and stairs were not clean the place looked like it was falling apart. Jon told the girls do not bother getting out. He was on his cell phone yelling at someone he was very angry. He said “ First ,the place is not what they want. Second, it’s in shambles. And third, is anyone living in it? The side walk, stairs, driveway and porch have not been shoveled or cleaned off. What apartment did you want them to look at? On the third floor! Are you crazy? I told you one of these ladies is in a wheel chair. Oh, there’s an elevator and how do you suppose she get to the elevator, fly?” He was so angry he hung up. He told a deep breath and shook his head. He said he was very sorry that he was angry, that the girls did not want to see this place. So on to the next place and for them just to follow him. It was exciting to the girls that they saw so many different sides of Jon.

Chapter 9

So Sarah drives to this house and Casey is her co pilot. The second house was on Adams Street not far from Danny’s father’s house. When the girls pulled up it was a very well kept house. The stairs and drive way were clear of snow. The outside of the house was just so beautiful. Jon said he would carry Andi if the girl wanted to carry the chair. This made Andi smile so big like she had one over on the rest of the girls. Everyone wiped their feet as they entered the enclose porch. The inside of the house was wall to wall carpeting. But the girls were soon disappointed. It had two floors to the house and two bedrooms that were upstairs. Six women can’t fit in a two bed room house with one bathroom. He put Andi in her chair and He called someone and said “You did not tell me this is a two story house with two bedrooms and that they are on the second floor when you told me about the house last night.” “No they will not be taking this house either.” “I told you how many times now there are six women and one is in a wheel chair?” then he hung up. He then smiled and swung his arm pointing and saying “On ward and up ward ladies we will find you the perfect house or I’m not in real estate!”

This gave all the ladies the giggles. The ladies carried the chair as Jon carried Andi back to the van. Kerry asked Jon to please sit Andi in the front seat. Kerry was going to drive his time and Andi was going to be her co pilot. Kerry and Casey watch as Jon sat Andi in the front seat and kissed Andi's cheek which made Andi beam. Her smile lit up everyone’s face. Kerry and Casey turned to one another and rolled there eyes. Now Andi did have one over on the rest of them. The third house was in Brighton. It was a few block off of Commonwealth in a very nice neighborhood. It was a very breathtaking house. A large front yard and long drive way with a huge mailbox at the end of it. The driveway and front walk looked clear of snow. It was a very well kept Ranch style house and very long. It was a beige house with green trim and shutters. The front door was white with a gold knocker and knob. Jonathan helped get Andi out of the van again. Jon introduced the girls to older gentlemen he said was Mr. Dagwood. The man said “Jon my name is Peter not Mr. Dagwood!", with a smile.

Mr. Dagwood opened the garage door and led them through into a large room. It was a laundry room and this is where Jon sat Andi in her chair. He smiled and looked around at all of the girls. From the laundry room they were lead into the kitchen which was huge with lots of counter space and cabinets. He said "It is an eat in kitchen you can put a table there." pointing to a large space. From the kitchen there were two doors, one into the front room and into a long hallway of bedrooms and bathroom. He also showed the girls the second door behind which looked like a den. All at once all the girls said the same thing “Computer room” then they all turned and look at one another. They all had computers. They all could be in there at one time. It was big enough and there was room for everyone to have there own space.

Then the girls were led down the hallway. There they found six bedrooms and three bathrooms, everything was the same size so no fighting over the rooms. Mr. Dagwood told them he had twelve children, two to each room. He made all the rooms the same size so no one fought. He told the girls he built the house 35 yrs ago and kept it in great condition so he could sell it. All the children were grown and in college or with families of there own. Him and his wife did not need such a large home anymore. Jon and Mr. Dagwood left the girls in the hallway to talk it over. They all wanted this house so bad. Jon stepped into the hallway to tell the girls there’s one thing Mr. Dagwood forgot to show them that he wanted to show them now. In the kitchen there were two sliding glass doors that led to a huge deck that ran the whole back of the house. He suggested maybe two or three outdoor tables and chairs for the summer. There also was a brick out door grill he made him self but they couldn’t see it under the snow. Just then all the girls turned to one another and eyes darted around and they all said aloud “WE WANT THIS HOUSE”! At this point everyone was smiling. Jon wanted to talk to Mr. Dagwood alone. So the girls took Andi and went to start the van and let it warm up. Lucky Jon just pushed a button and his car started.

Jon and Mr. Dagwood had a long talk. They shook hands and were smiling as Jon walked toward the van. He told the girls they should go out to lunch on him and talk. Though the girls were excited to be having lunch with Jon they refused to let him pay for lunch.

Chapter 10

After everyone ordered their food Jon dropped THE BOMB. He had bought the house and is now the ladies landlord. Their was not a sound just 14 eyes darting around at one another. Then there was a rush of 7 people talking at one time. All the girls were fine having Jon as their land lord. He said the ladies could move in as soon as they wanted. So the ladies made plans for the next day to register at Harvard and get back to Florida pack and get back to Mass as soon as possible to start their new lives. Kerry then asked Jon if they could paint there rooms. Also if they could put decoration on their doors so everyone knew their room. Jon then suggested going to a paint store at lunch with him pick out paint swatches. The go back to the house pick our colors and room. Right then all the girls were bursting at the seems. Jon was like a father spoiling is daughter. There was very little chit chat as they eat I guess everyone had to let it all sink in. But, they all ate with smiles on their faces.

As soon as they were done some of the girls were excusing them selves for the ladies room to potty and freshen up. Of course Jon was trying to pay in full for the meal. The girls still at the table were fighting him and throwing money on the table. Soon the bill was settled as they were on there way to the paint store. Andi wanted to drive so she followed Jon very carefully. The girl once at the store walked about talking of colors like blue, pink, purple and yellow in primaries and pastels. Jon held all the paint swatches for the drive back to the house. Once there, all the girls picked rooms and colors. Jon labeled the colors and tacked them to the bedroom door of that girls choice. Jon then dropped a second bomb. At 2:30 tomorrow the girls would be flying back to Florida and packing, then flying back to Mass as soon as they were done. A moving company had been hired to move them and they had open tickets to fly back to Mass when they wanted.

At this point the ladies were in shock. They were looking at one another not saying anything. Then as if reading one another’s minds, they rushed Jon hugging and kissing him thanking him for everything and promising to pay him back. Kerry got a chill and jumped holding herself. The room fell quiet and everyone stared at her. She said she had a feeling all day that they were being followed and someone was watching them. It gave her goose bumps.

Chapter 11

Jon and the girl shook the idea of anyone following them. Jon, being a man would have noticed that right?? Everyone filed out of the house, out through the garage and to their vehicles. When Andi said she left her purse, Jon turned and asked Kerry to rush in and get it as he handed her the key. As Kerry walked through the kitchen into the front room, she thought she saw someone at the sliding doors. As she bent down to get the purse from the floor, Kerry looked toward the sliding glass doors, hmmm no one there, she thought to herself. But she went and checked anyways and saw a set of foot prints there. They did not look like Jon’s or Mr. Dagwood’s.

Kerry got a huge chill down her spine and many goose bumps. She was scared and had many questions going through her mind. She rushed back out, locking the door and running to hand Jon his keys back. She gave them to him and looked back at the house. Andi told Kerry while she was back in the house, Andi had a talk with Jon.

Andi tells Kerry that about two weeks after they move in, she wanted to spend all day alone with him, even though he might have to work . He agreed with a blush and Kerry’s heart sank. She too loved Jon and longed to be alone with him. Kerry was sad but let it all pass.

“Kerry, you will later cause I am going to take you shopping and to the movies.” Then she had to tell them all about the foot prints. In a shakey voice Kerry asks “Umm, were any of you out on the back deck at all today?” Everyone stopped talking and smiling and answered no. “Ok, I am totally freaked out now. ” Kerry proceeds to say” I felt someone watching us and following us all day and we all shook it off”. Looking down rubbing her hands as if they were cold. She went on, ”When I went back into the house, I saw someone and I saw foot prints. So I know and I have proof someone is following us.“ Jon looked at her and without a word, walks towards the back deck. All of the girls soon followed like lil ducks all in a row. Yes, there on the deck were foots prints and they followed them through two back yards to the next street over, to find a car pulling away.

Chapter 12

Jon decides to walk the ladies back to their van. He insists the ladies go back to the hotel and not go anywhere till Jon calls the cops and makes a statement. Plus if the police need to interview each lady they know where to find them all. He rushes the ladies back through the yards and to their van. None of the them uttered a word. They were all in shock and were all thinking “who could be stalking or following us and why”? As they pulled out of the drive way, Jon was on his cell phone requesting a cop car show up at this address. No one said a word on the drive back to Braintree to the hotel.

It was getting dark and they were all hungry. Pam suggested they walk across the parking lot to Bickford’s. Pauline called Jon to let him know what was going on. Andi didn’t feel like rolling her chair so Sarah pushed her. They walked in silence like someone had died. The shock had set in and no one knew what to say. The hostess asked how many table or booth. Casey answered “There are six of us, with one in a wheelchair, please“. All the woman chimed in a “Thank You”. The cold winter outside is not what made these ladies cold or shiver. It was some weirdo watching and following them. How much did this person see or hear? They all felt so violated, but said nothing to the others.

The ladies ordered steaks, burgers, fries, baked potatoes with butter and sour cream. There were shakes and soda also ordered. You could see the ladies were tense and jumpy. They moved uncomfortably in there chairs as people entered and exited the restaurant or even walked by their table. Every lady at one time or another watched out the window looking at the doors of their hotel rooms, cars and the parking lot to see if they could see anyone watching or following. Finally, Andi spoke, making the rest of the ladies jump. She said” Ok. I have been thinking and we should all huddle into one room. We should order movies and have a good night and get this off our minds. If we have to, we will push two beds together and bring mattresses from other room so we are all comfortable and sleep well“. Kerry said it sounded great to her, so all the others agreed. No one should be alone tonight. They finished what they could of their dinners. As they paid Jon called Casey’s cell phone saying he spoke to the police and they were on their way to interview them all. Casey told Jon their plan for the night. He agreed it was a great plan. That no one should go anywhere alone.

The girls left Bickford’s and started back to the hotel. They finally decided that everyone was going to stay in Andi and Kerry’s room. It was easier for Andi to be on the bed and not the floor. They also decided Kerry and Pam would push the beds together and the rest of the ladies would go room to room getting mattresses. Andi rolled room to room gathering clothes for everyone. She was trying to stay out of the way so the other ladies to could hurry up and get things together.

Pam was the one that found the envelope. There it lay on the rug, walked on and over a few times and no one saw it. It said ‘Kerry’ in red on the envelope. Pam picked it up and in a shakey voice said “Umm Kerry, this is for you.” Everyone stopped what they were doing. Sarah told Pam to put the letter right where it was and DO NOT TOUCH it. Andi right away called Jon and told him everything. Jon told Andi he would be right there and asked if the police had come yet. Andi told him no. He said they should have been there by now. He was going to call the officer he spoke to and let them know things are happening at the hotel now.
